Press Statement by New Hong Kong Tunnel Co. Ltd.

(Hong Kong, 8 December 2005) As one of the sponsors for the World Trade Organization (WTO) Sixth Ministerial Conference (MC6) to be held in Hong Kong, the New Hong Kong Tunnel Company Limited is pleased to announce the following promotional programs at the Eastern Harbour Tunnel during the WTO MC6 period from 00:00 hour on Tuesday 13 December 2005 to 23:59 hours on Sunday 18 December 2005:

The above promotional tolls are only applicable to customers paying toll by cash at the manual toll booths or by autotoll. Customers tendering prepaid tunnel vouchers cannot enjoy such promotions.

 

All other current promotions at the Eastern Harbour Tunnel, including (1) $15 a trip for empty taxis paying at the manual toll booths; (2) $10 for each extra axle of goods vehicles; and (3) one free trip for every 10 trips of the same non-franchised single-decker bus paying by autotoll within the same week, will remain unchanged during the MC6 period and continue until 31 December 2005 as previously announced.
